The Royal Danish Consulate General in Istanbul, Energy and Environment Team has published a new market report: Energy Efficiency Market Outlook 2024 focusing on Turkish market opportunities and challenges.

Energy efficiency is highlighted as a critical component within categories like green transformation, efforts to ensure the security of the energy supply, and the impact of global developments on Türkiye in the 12th Development Plan, which was published in November 1, 2023, for the period 2024–2028. By assisting in the decrease of energy demand and guaranteeing supply security through efficient cost management, energy efficiency will be essential to achieving the 2053 Net Zero Emission Target.
The Trade Council of Denmark in Istanbul provides accurate and useful information on the key sectors within trade between Denmark and Türkiye. For this purpose, our Energy and Environment Team recently updated our special sector reports; now – on Energy Efficiency.
In order to reduce emissions in Türkiye, cities are essential. In particular, the authorities are focused on to work for improving the energy efficiency of the building stock, facilitate the transition to low- or zero-emission public transportation, promote smart, green urban mobility, and incorporate green solutions into the management of municipal infrastructure. To prevent locking in high-emission urban growth, careful planning of the built environment and land development is also necessary.
